I started to get pain in my elbow as a gymnast when I was 11 years old. For 3 years doctors told me it was growing pains and my gymnastics coaches told me to just work through the pain. At 14 I was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans, I had no cartilage left and had broken off part of the bone which was operated on at 15. I was told at 16 years old that I required an elbow replacement but I was far too young.
